Oboro Tsukimigusa (月見草 朧, Tsukimigusa Oboro) is a supporting character appearing in the Shimoneta series.

He is a seemingly female school prefect trained by Matsukage Nishikinomiya to adhere to a strict moral code that mostly protects Anna Nishikinomiya from all potentially immoral influences.

Appearance[]

Oboro has a very feminine build with long black hair and black eyes.

He wears a female uniform and pretends to be a woman as ordered by Matsukage Nishikinomiya to make his job easier as well as to prevent her from developing any feelings for Anna.

Personality[]

Oboro has been trained to like and dislike everything that Anna Nishikinomiya does, showing very little sense of self. In Episode 9, he stated that "if Anna thinks peppers are delicious, then I think they are delicious. If she thinks that pudding is disgusting, then I think they are disgusting."

Background[]

Not much is known about Oboro's younger years, but he has worked for Matsukage Nishikinomiya for a long time. Oboro said that "If Mr. Nishikinomiya says that I am a boy, then I am a boy. If he says that I am a girl, then I am a girl," indicating that Mr. Nishikinomiya assigns him a gender.

Ability[]

  • Oboro has an uncanny talent of seeing obscenity/sexual connotations in innocent, everyday objects, which is proved to be an invaluable skill which helped SOX in their battle against the other ero-terrorist organizations. This also indicates she has had exposure or been revealed said explicit material which undermines the integrity of the organization and if they have lewd content stored if said lewd content is to be destroyed immediately and without hesitation.
  • Oboro is surprisingly quick to change position on what is considered "illegal" material when a student protests strongly enough.

Etymology[]

  • The name, Oboro, means "haziness, dreaminess, gloom" (朧).[1]
  • Oboro's surname, Tsukimigusa, means "moon" (月) (tsuki), "see, hopes, chances, idea, opinion, look at, visible" (見) (mi) and "grass, herb, weed" (草) (kusa/gusa).

Trivia[]

  • Despite Oboro being a male, his Japanese, English, and German voice actors are female.
